Health Educator is responsible for developing and designing health education programs meant to increase community awareness and knowledge. Conducts needs assessments and keeps up-to-date on changes in health care technology to keep program material current. Being a Health Educator develops, coordinates, and disseminates educational resources and materials. May provide health education outreach and consultation. Additionally, Health Educator requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Health Educator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BS degree in public health, education, nutrition or a related field. Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to: develop, provide and evaluate education programming. Experience in youth education in a school setting and in public health is desirable. Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable car. Travel is required on a regular basis.
