Job Summary:

As the Coaching Director (Part-Time) at Play Where You Stay, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing the quality of our sports programs. You will be responsible for recruiting, training, and supervising coaches, ensuring the delivery of engaging and inclusive coaching sessions that align with our mission and values.

Office Location: 1350 Concourse Ave, Memphis, TN 38104. Play Where You Stay hosts and trains children in different parks and schools around the City.

Hours: This position is part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, evenings and weekends.

Pay: The salary for this position is dependent on the candidate's demonstrated experience, expertise, and skill.

Reports to: Program Director

This position is part of an innovative, fast-paced, flexible work environment with a mission-driven team.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a coaching strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and program goals.
• Recruit, train, and supervise a team of coaches to deliver high-quality sports programs.
• Collaborate with the Program Director to ensure the seamless integration of coaching activities with overall program operations.
• Create and implement coaching curriculum that emphasize skill development, teamwork, and the playing style envisioned by the club.
• Conduct regular coaching workshops and training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of coaching staff.
• Monitor coaching sessions to ensure compliance with safety standards, program objectives, and organizational policies.
• Collect and analyze feedback from participants, coaches, and parents to continuously improve coaching programs.
• Assist in the recruitment of program participants by promoting coaching excellence and the positive impact of sports engagement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business admnistration, nonprofit management, sports management, social work, education or experience in a related field commiserate to the job
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in coaching or coaching leadership roles.
• Spanish speaker is a plus.
• Relevant coaching certifications and a strong understanding of sports development principles.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate coaching staff.
• Knowledge of youth sports trends, safety standards, and best practices.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing coaching curriculum and programs.
• Passion for Play Where You Stay's mission and a commitment to making a positive impact in underserved communities.
