Head of Nursing plans and directs all nursing personnel. Develops and implements nursing policies, objectives, and initiatives. Being a Head of Nursing reviews nursing department operations to ensure compliance with established standards. Ensures that all patients receive the highest quality care. Additionally, Head of Nursing requires a master's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to top management. The Head of Nursing manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. Comprehensive knowledge of the overall departmental function. Carry out a program of instruction ensuring program policies and procedures are being met for a pre-school classroom of up to 20 children, supervise an Assistant Teacher, make home visits, encourage parent involvement, and work closely with other staff concerning enrollment and meeting the needs of families.
Applicant must possess an AA or higher degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with 18 credit hours of Early Childhood Education. Applicant should also possess good written, verbal, and computer skills. Experience and/or training in working with pre-school children is desired. Must pass physical exam, TB screening, drug screen, and criminal/fingerprint background check.
Child Development Associate credential may be accepted.
