Head of Home Care leads and directs the daily operations of a home health care agency. Establishes and implements quality standards for patient care. Being a Head of Home Care measures and monitors patient satisfaction and outcomes. Ensures that all operations and reporting requirements comply with regulations. Additionally, Head of Home Care requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Head of Home Care manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Head of Home Care typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Duties:
Shift Opening - Mon-Tue-Wed 9am-5pm/Sun 1pm- 6pm
-Must have own car with car insurance and a valid license.
- Provide direct care and support to residents in a compassionate and respectful manner
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Administer medications according to prescribed instructions and document accurately
- Implement behavior management strategies to support individuals with autism or other behavioral challenges
- Collaborate with social workers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Ensure the safety and well-being of residents by monitoring their physical and emotional needs
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents
Skills:
- Strong understanding of resident rights and the importance of maintaining their dignity and privacy
- Ability to drive and transport residents as needed
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and ability to follow medication schedules accurately
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare team members
- Basic first aid knowledge to respond to medical emergencies or provide immediate care until a nurse arrives
- Ability to manage challenging behaviors in a calm and professional manner
