BRIEF SUMMARY: This is a professional administrative management position responsible for the implementation of program activities to meet the federal and state regulations for health services, including medical and dental for Head Start and Early Head Start children. The Health Services Specialist works in collaboration with school districts and health service providers throughout partnership districts for coordinated service delivery. This position provides training, mentoring, and ongoing monitoring to assigned personnel. This position also provides information and community resources for staff and parents. In addition, this position serves as a liaison between Murray Head Start and community agencies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and related work experience in public health, nursing, health education, maternal and child health, health administration or related field. Necessary skills include basic knowledge of the scope of federal and state regulations, the ability to clearly express ideas verbally and in writing, and coordination with other program services areas and a variety of community agencies. Administrative ability and strong organizational skills are desired.
This is a position that works 7.5 hours per day for 200 days per year and will be off when the Murray Independent School District is closed for Spring Break, Fall Break, Winter Break, and part of Summer Break.
