Head Teller ensures the daily operational activities of the teller line are executed with accuracy and fulfill required service standards. Processes and records routine transactions, handles complex or unusual customer transactions, and answers more complex customer inquiries. Being a Head Teller depending on policy, may authorize certain transactions. Assists with teller onboarding, training, and guidance. Additionally, Head Teller is responsible for vault oversight and the daily auditing, reporting, and balancing processes. Oversees each teller's daily reconciliation and assists if needed. Ensures that tellers comply with all operating, regulatory, and security policies and procedures. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Head Teller supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Head Teller typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Supervise, coach, and develop Teller Operation Staff Oversee the overall teller operations of the retail branches Reconcile teller general ledger accounts and maintain research documentation Oversee teller policies procedures are properly trained and followed Ensure proper cash levels are established and maintained at a Market level Evaluate and amend as needed teller processes, policies, and procedures Evaluate and establish loss tolerance guidelines for coaching and counseling. Review and approve all teller counseling before supervisor enters into HR system and presents to employee Manage and analyze various reports in according to policy and procedures Support retail management with reports to aid in the completion of performance reviews, evaluations, and end of year recognition Review and approve all teller promotions Assist in hiring process Manage post robbery duties and maintain reports Attend, participate, facilitate meetings, and organize recognition as needed Review, conduct and approve Market quarterly cash audits Assist with teller staffing, movement of borrowed tellers, and teller system set ups Ensures dual control procedures are followed Maintain counterfeits records, ensure procedures are followed Oversee Teller Operation Branch set up for new branch openings and closing Maintain quarterly immediate credit files review and updates on teller system Manage cashier checks authorized signer set up and presentation to board for approvals. Ensure all teller related problems and customers complaints are resolved promptly Conduct research on internal investigations and/or customer disputes Conduct monthly audits as received from various departments Review and approve all team member alarm and cash ordering system access Actively participates in all Corporate Teller Operations initiatives Conduct branch visits Other duties as assigned SKILLS Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Self-motivated (Self initiative) Good organizational skills Active listening Complex problem solving Management of personnel resources Critical thinking Monitoring Systems analysis Systems evaluation EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High school graduate; some college hours preferred 3-4 years banking/teller experience preferred.
