Head Nurse - Pediatrics jobs in New York

Head Nurse - Pediatrics directs nursing service activities for assigned pediatric patients. Delegates responsibilities to pediatric staff nurses; supervises preparation and maintenance of pediatric patient clinical records, and writes reports on pediatrics staff performance and services rendered. Being a Head Nurse - Pediatrics maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Head Nurse - Pediatrics requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Pediatrics manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Pediatrics typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Our team of board-certified physicians, nationally certified nurse practitioners, and NYS licensed nurses to provide cutting-edge health care to patients in a friendly, welcoming environment.

    With locations growing in Liverpool and Camillus, we are looking to hire experienced LPNs to meet our expanding patient base.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Triage patients.
    • Administer medications/vaccines as ordered
    • Perform vision/hearing/EKG testing; document patient communications in the medical record
    • Perform duties and assist providers as part of the practice care team
    • Establishes and maintains good interpersonal relationships with patients, families, the public, and co-workers.


    Qualifications:

    • NYS Valid LPN nursing license
    • Knowledge of nursing processes; health care systems, structure, and functions
    • Knowledge of state law regarding nursing care, nurse practice guidelines, and office policies and procedures.
    • Experience with electronic medical records. (Medent) a plus.


    Must be available to work occasional Monday evenings and an occasional 1/2 day on Saturday (8:30 am to approximately 1:00 pm. (Once every 4th or 5th Saturday or Monday)

    Salary commensurate with experience.
