Head Nurse - Pediatrics directs nursing service activities for assigned pediatric patients. Delegates responsibilities to pediatric staff nurses; supervises preparation and maintenance of pediatric patient clinical records, and writes reports on pediatrics staff performance and services rendered. Being a Head Nurse - Pediatrics maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Head Nurse - Pediatrics requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Pediatrics manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Education/Certification: Current licensure as a Registered/Practical Nurse in the State of Idaho. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required or must be attained within 6 months of hire.
Experience: Five years in a clinic setting.
Equipment/Technology: Must be able to use Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
Language/Communication: Must have the sensitivity, maturity, and ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
Mathematical Skills: General mathematics.
Mental Capabilities: Can concentrate for long periods of time in order to complete assigned tasks with a better than average attention span in order to listen, read and remember verbal and written instructions. Can understand input from the manager and/or Director concerning errors and instructions.
Interpersonal: Ability to work well with others.
Performance: Full time position requiring some weekends and holidays.
