Head Nurse - Operating Room directs nursing service activities for assigned patients in the operating room. Delegates responsibilities to auxiliary and operating room staff nurses. Being a Head Nurse - Operating Room supervises preparation and maintenance of patient clinical records and writes reports on operating room staff performance and services rendered. Maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Additionally, Head Nurse - Operating Room requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Operating Room manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Operating Room typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. POSITION SUMMARY: This position is a professional licensed Registered Nurse position which circulates throughout surgical event within the facility. This is a day shift position, working Monday through Friday.

Work additional hours on short notice as requested by doctor or supervisor in order to accommodate staffing emergencies, employee absences, and fluctuations in business levels.
