Head Nurse - Operating Room directs nursing service activities for assigned patients in the operating room. Delegates responsibilities to auxiliary and operating room staff nurses. Being a Head Nurse - Operating Room supervises preparation and maintenance of patient clinical records and writes reports on operating room staff performance and services rendered. Maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Additionally, Head Nurse - Operating Room requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Operating Room manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Operating Room typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. We are searching for an Operating Room Registered Nurse to perform a variety of duties involving coordinating total nursing care for patients, participating in patient and family teaching and providing leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice within an assigned patient care unit. Has knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, which is appropriate to the age group of patients regularly served. May assume Charge responsibility for assigned personnel and activities as required or directed.
