Head Nurse - Occupational Health jobs in South Dakota

Head Nurse - Occupational Health directs nursing service activities for occupational health services. Develops and conducts training programs to promote employee safety in the workplace. Being a Head Nurse - Occupational Health conducts regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify any health or safety hazards. Maintains records, investigates accidents and injuries, prepares appropriate reports for OSHA, and ensures compliance with all occupational health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations. Additionally, Head Nurse - Occupational Health coordinates the procurement, review, and project management of contracts and service agreements with outside vendors. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Occupational Health manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Occupational Health typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Summary

    • The Occupational Therapist-Pediatric is accountable for evaluating, planning, and executing all aspects of Occupational Therapy, infant through geriatric, with disabilities, disorders, and injuries to develop and restore maximal functional level.
    • Primary caseload in pediatrics is birth to 21. Occasional coverage for hospital patients for all other age ranges as part of a weekend/holiday rotation.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer's status.
    • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.

    Education and/or Experience

    • Master's Degree is required.
    • Doctorate Degree is preferred.

    • Must be a graduate of/or certified from a curriculum of Occupational Therapy approved by the AOTA accrediting body.

    • 0-6 months of experience is required.
    • 1-2 years of experience is preferred.

    CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS

    • Must be licensed to practice Occupational Therapy by the South Dakota Board of Medical and Osteopathic Examiners.
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) is required.
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) is preferred.

    Work Schedule

    • Monday - Friday; 80 hours every 2 weeks
      • 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
      • Occasional weekend and holiday
      • This position will be part of the OT weekend (Saturday coverage) rotation at the inpatient therapy department at Avera St. Luke's Hospital several times per year.
      • As part of the weekend holiday rotation along with all other OT staff members.

    Pay

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

    • $ $45.75 per hour
