Head Nurse - Occupational Health directs nursing service activities for occupational health services. Develops and conducts training programs to promote employee safety in the workplace. Being a Head Nurse - Occupational Health conducts regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify any health or safety hazards. Maintains records, investigates accidents and injuries, prepares appropriate reports for OSHA, and ensures compliance with all occupational health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations. Additionally, Head Nurse - Occupational Health coordinates the procurement, review, and project management of contracts and service agreements with outside vendors. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Occupational Health manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Description
The LVN will work collaboratively with providers and staff to provide and manage patient care utilizing critical thinking and the nursing process. Responsible for performing nursing services requiring technical and manual skills under the direction of the Physician, Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist providers with examinations and other nursing procedures.
• Perform exams and administer treatment to patients.
• Collect and label laboratory specimens in accordance with laws and policies.
• Collect and interpret patient information.
• Maintain complete and accurate patient records.
• Data entry thru EHR.
• Strictly adherence to universal precautions as established by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Occupational Safety and Health Administration and clinic standards.
• Assist providers with examinations and other procedures relating to direct patient care.
• Dress wounds.
• Administer medications.
• Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• At least 1 year experience as an LVN in a clinic setting.
• Working knowledge of direct patient care methods and practices in a community clinic setting.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, strong organization skills and a keen attention to detail.
• Fluent in Spanish/English preferred.
Education, Licenses/Certification
• Current and valid California LVN license required
• Current BLS or CPR certification
Experience
Medical terminology and one-year previous experience within a clinic-setting. Occupational health and/or Workers Compensation experience preferred.
