Head Nurse - Obstetrics directs nursing service activities for assigned patients in the delivery room and birthing units. Delegates responsibilities to auxiliary and obstetrics staff nurses; supervises preparation and maintenance of obstetrics patient clinical records, and writes reports on obstetrics room staff performance and services rendered. Being a Head Nurse - Obstetrics maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Head Nurse - Obstetrics requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Obstetrics manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Obstetrics typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Join the Head Start teaching team in a teacher assistant-type position in facilitating many classroom activities such as field trips, lesson planning, and classroom maintenance. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the basics of the Head Start classroom and start a career track to becoming a Head Start Teacher. This position may also assist in the kitchen, bus, or other areas of operation.
As a minimum requirement, ideal Applicant should have a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or a state-awarded certificate that meets or exceeds the requirements for a CDA credential. Applicant’s able to be enrolled in a program that will lead to an associate degree, baccalaureate degree, or a CDA credential program to be completed with two years of the time of hire will also be considered. Tuition assistance provided in most cases.
Schedule: Full-Time, 35 Hours per Week, Monday – Friday, Weeks 38 Weeks per Year
