Head Nurse - Obstetrics directs nursing service activities for assigned patients in the delivery room and birthing units. Delegates responsibilities to auxiliary and obstetrics staff nurses; supervises preparation and maintenance of obstetrics patient clinical records, and writes reports on obstetrics room staff performance and services rendered. Being a Head Nurse - Obstetrics maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Head Nurse - Obstetrics requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Obstetrics manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Minimum Qualifications: Hiring subject to applicable URJ and Pennsylvania State background checks.
Calm under pressure with a proven track record of excellent organizational and communications skills; comfort in managing multiple projects with and for multiple stakeholders. Comfort with and ability to learn new technology. Prior experience working with elementary and middle school-age children in a formal or informal setting. Supervisory experience is preferred. Must be a registered nurse or LPN licensed in the State of Pennsylvania or able to obtain PA license, be able to demonstrate flexibility, manage multiple responsibilities at once, and work as part of a team. Residential positions prioritized; open to local commuter positions. Love and/or respect for The Arts and a diverse community is a must.
