Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training clinical staff. Being a Head Nurse - Nursing Home ensures that nurses are current in competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training. May provide direct patient care and is responsible for assessing, planning, and evaluating patients. Additionally, Head Nurse - Nursing Home requires a bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited school. Requires a valid state RN license. Typically reports to a top management. The Head Nurse - Nursing Home manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager.
