Head Nurse jobs in Massachusetts

Head Nurse plans and implements the overall nursing policies, procedures, and services for a unit. Maintains nursing staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training clinical staff. Being a Head Nurse ensures that nurses are current in competencies, assessments, licensure, certifications, and other annual training. May provide direct patient care and is responsible for assessing, planning, and evaluating patients. Additionally, Head Nurse requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Typically requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Preschool Teacher

    • Successful candidate must –
      • Provide EEC Lead Teacher Preschool Certification OR
      • Possess a CDA in Preschool OR
      • Be enrolled in a Program to obtain a CDA or Lead Teacher Certification through the Department of Early Education and Care with an expected completion date within one year of hire.

    Starting Pay: $15.45- $18.17 per hour depending on education
    Full Year

    • Full Time - 35/40 hours per week
    • Full Year - 52 weeks per year
    Part Year
    • Full Time – 35/40 hours per week
    • Part Year – 44/47 weeks per year
