Head Nurse - Infection Control jobs in Oregon

Head Nurse - Infection Control directs nursing services activities for infection control. Supervises the implementation and maintenance of infection control policies and procedures as set forth by the infection control committee. Being a Head Nurse - Infection Control ensures isolation protocols are followed and that appropriate state and county organizations are notified of any reportable diseases. Prepares management reports as appropriate. Additionally, Head Nurse - Infection Control requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Infection Control manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Infection Control typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     As a registered nurse - infection control (RN), you'll help control pathogens and prevent infections in healthcare facilities. Working at a hospital, nursing home, home health setting, ambulatory surgery center or another facility, you'll help reduce the spread of disease among patients and staff. Your responsibilities may include isolating and treating infected patients, creating disease management plans, gathering infection data, working with epidemiologists and government entities, and educating patients, staff and families. You'll play a critical role in preventing disease and helping your patients regain health.

    Minimum Requirements

    • At least 1 year of recent acute care experience in specialty
    • Active RN license
