Head Nurse - Industrial directs nursing service activities in an industrial setting. Provides care to patients with emergency industrial accidents and surgery outpatients. Additionally, Head Nurse - Industrial maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - Industrial manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - Industrial typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Summary Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools. This is accomplished by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.

    Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.

    • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
    • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
    • Build or repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, carpenter's hand tools, or power tools.
    • Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools.
    • Maintain records, document actions, and present written progress reports.
    • Erect scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
    • Construct forms or chutes for pouring concrete.

    Supervisory Responsibilities - May directly supervise 1 to 5 carpenter helpers in the Operations Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Austin Industrial’s policies & procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
