Industrial Coatings Journeyman – Painter

Graham Industrial Coatings is seeking qualified industrial sandblasters/painters to work on a bridge project in beautiful Juneau, Alaska. Job is temporary but can be transferred to full time work after project. Project is from June 1 - October 1

Minimum Qualifications for Submitting Application:

• 3-5 years field experience as a journeyman
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Any Applicants with both current SSPC-C7 and C12 certifications will be preferred.
• Submit to, and pass an extensive background check
• Pass drug screening
• Provide 3 Personal and 3 Professional References

Demonstrate knowledge of, and previous/current qualification in industry specific Personal Protective Equipment and Safe Work Systems and Practices

• Respirator Pulmonary Qualification Test Certification
• Respirator Fit Test Certification
• Alaska Hazardous Paint Handling Certification (if not, training is provided)
• Lead abatement removal (if no certification, training will be provided)
• Working at Heights/Fall Protection Certification

Demonstrate knowledge of, and proficiency in the operation of surface preparation technologies, standards, and methods (preferred, not required)

• High-Production Dry Abrasive Blasting
• Hand and Power-Tool Surface Preparation

Demonstrate knowledge of, and proficiency in the application of numerous protective coatings and linings technologies, standards, and methods

• Thermal Arc Spray Metallization
• Airless Operation and Application
• Thin-Film Urethane Application Proficiency

Be able to work in a physically rigorous environment and demonstrate the ability to:

• Be able to repeatedly lift 70lbs
• Be able to do repetitive motions during shifts
• Be able to work from heights
• Be able to work for 12 - 14hr Shifts
• Must be willing to work 100% out of town in Juneau and provide your own means to travel there, if hired.

Compensation and Location:

• Up to 80hrs per Week
• Wages for this project are subject to the Davis Bacon Prevailing Wage Act $63 - $70/hr

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $63.00 - $70.00 per hour

Expected hours: 60 – 72 per week
