Head Nurse - CCU directs nursing service activities for assigned critical/coronary care unit patients. Delegates responsibilities to auxiliary and critical care unit staff nurses; supervises preparation and maintenance of critical care unit patient clinical records, and writes reports on critical care unit staff performance and services rendered. Being a Head Nurse - CCU maintains pre-set inventory standards for solutions, supplies, medicines and equipment, and keeps track of narcotics. Requires a bachelor's degree in nursing. Additionally, Head Nurse - CCU typically requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Requires Registered Nurse (RN). Typically reports to a director. The Head Nurse - CCU manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Nurse - CCU typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Responsibilities

    Hiring Full Time ICU/CCU RN's for our Team.  The Critical Care Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the CCU. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients; He/She communicates with the physician about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

    • 12 hour shifts
    • Epic Computer Charting
    • ICU or Critical Care experience Preferred

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

     

    1. Current and valid state RN License.

    2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

    3. Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.

    4. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

    5. Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.

    6. Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.

    7. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
