Being a Head Golf Professional coordinates marketing programs to promote the facility's services to potential customers and oversees member events and daily play. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Head Golf Professional requires an active Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) membership. Typically reports to a golf course general manager. The Head Golf Professional manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Duties:
- Conduct individual and group golf lessons for players of all skill levels
- Create and manage schedules for pro-shop and outside service employees.
-Teach and manage Jr Golf programs
-Crate and manage tee-sheets to maximize revenue
- Develop personalized training programs to help golfers improve their game
- Lead sales and coordination of golf tournaments and events
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues
-Merchandise our pro-shop. Potential for commission on items sold.
- Ensure the safety of players on the course and enforce golf course rules
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, techniques, and equipment
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years in the golf industry.
- Previous experience as a Golf Professional or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of golf rules, techniques, and equipment
- Experience in organizing and scoring golf tournaments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively educate and coach individuals of all ages and skill levels
- Must have reliable transportation
