This position reports to the Director of Golf. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Essential Functions:
Golf Operations Management:
Oversee daily operations of the golf shop, including merchandise sales, tee sheet
management, and member/guest check-in
This position will be expected to work open and close shifts when needed
Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless daily operation
(Turf-Care, Events, Food & Beverage, and Marketing)
Develop and implement efficient procedures to enhance the golf experience for our
patrons
Monitor pace of play and enforce course policies to ensure a smooth flow of play
Member and Guest Relations:
Build strong relationships with members and guests, anticipating their needs and
exceeding expectations
Address member/guest concerns and feedback promptly and professionally.
Act as an ambassador for the club, promoting Queenstown Harbor and fostering a sense
of community among players
Develop and implement programs to engage members in golf-related activities
Ensure the proper management of League play at the property
Staff Management and Training:
Recruit, hire, train and supervise the Starters, Greeters, Course Ambassadors, and Cart
Attendants.
Promote a positive and collaborative work environment, providing ongoing feedback and
coaching to team members.
Ensure staff adherence to club policies and procedures, including safety and customer
service standards.
Scheduling of outside staff to ensure proper coverage based on the needs of the day.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
Merchandising:
Work collaboratively with the Director of Golf to manage the inventory in the golf shop
ensuring a clean, well-organized retail space
Implementation of effective merchandising strategies to drive sales
Stay current with industry trends and developments in golf equipment and apparel
Requirements
Qualifications:
Excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to work
independently as well as part of a team
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential
Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
5 years minimum experience required as an Assistant Golf Professional
PGA Membership or pursuit of a PGA Membership preferred
Proficient in golf instruction and club fitting
Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
