Head Cataloging Librarian develops cataloging policies and procedures and implements improvement. Manages staff and student assistants in all formats cataloging following updated workflows. Being a Head Cataloging Librarian creates metadata schema to ensure efficient workflow for metadata projects. Typically requires a master's degree. Additionally, Head Cataloging Librarian typically reports to top management. The Head Cataloging Librarian manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Cataloging Librarian typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Qualifications

    Minimum Education and Experience:

    • Master’s degree from an American Library Association accredited program.

    Preferred Experience:

    • Experienced working library technology issues using vendor products like Springshare, EBSCO.
    • Skilled in library areas like ILL, Acquisitions, Customer Service.
    • Developed innovative projects.
    • Familiarity with statistics for library resources.
    • Possess knowledge of authentication systems like CAS or OpenAthens and resolving off-campus access issues.
    • Pursues professional development.
