Head Cataloging Librarian develops cataloging policies and procedures and implements improvement. Manages staff and student assistants in all formats cataloging following updated workflows. Being a Head Cataloging Librarian creates metadata schema to ensure efficient workflow for metadata projects. Typically requires a master's degree. Additionally, Head Cataloging Librarian typically reports to top management. The Head Cataloging Librarian manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Head Cataloging Librarian typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Seeking a highly motivated preschool teacher who loves working with children, takes pride in creating a safe, nurturing learning environment that meets children where they are, and implements lesson plans that take all children to the next step developmentally.

    This person will be responsible for the day to day learning and safety of all children. He/she will work with the teacher assistant to operate a classroom that puts emphasis on structure, routine, and building relationships. The teacher will be responsible to interact, engage, observe, and assess children through play and be able to adhere to program policies and requirements. The teacher is also expected to develop a positive rapport with families as it is a vital part to optimal child development and learning.

    Information:

    • Children attend 4 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday). Teachers have a built-in prep day each week (Wednesday).
    • 9-month position from mid-August to mid-May. If desired, summer hours may be available through HIT, Inc.

    • Collaborate with fellow classroom staff as part of a teaching team to support children and implement policies.
    • Must have an associate, baccalaureate, or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, or related field
    • Must have valid driver's license

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Adhere to all principles of confidentiality.
    • Implement age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans to meet the required Head Start Performance Standards. West River Head Start implements the Creative Curriculum and Conscious Discipline, and utilizes ChildPlus and DRDP data systems.
    • Participate in meetings, committees, and training sessions as required. Conduct a minimum of two parent/teacher conferences and a minimum of two home visits annually per child.
    • Demonstrate a positive attitude with parents, community members and other staff by using assertive communication (clear, direct, and respectful) when addressing an issue.
    • Adequate computer skills to perform job responsibilities.
    • Must comply with all facility, Head Start Policy and Procedures and HIT Expectations.
    • Generate in-kind from classroom families and outside sources.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $26.84 - $31.83 per hour
