JOB SUMMARY: Saginaw Valley State University, a DII member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, invites applications for the position of Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer. The University’s athletic program fields 20 Division II intercollegiate teams (9 men’s and 11 women’s) and boasts more than 500 student-athletes.
This is a 12-month position reporting directly to and working with the Director of Athletics, the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer will direct and supervise the health care of all intercollegiate student-athletes through prevention, recognition, evaluation, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses with referrals to health specialists as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIIES:
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General supervision is received from the Director of Athletics.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervise and mentor five Assistant Athletic Trainers, Per Diem Athletic Trainers, Interns, and Student Workers as well as an Athletic Insurance Coordinator.
