Has completed necessary trade school courses. Being a Head Aircraft Mechanic (Non-Jet) typically requires an associate degree. Possesses necessary FAA Aircraft Mechanic Airframe and Power Plant Certificate. Additionally, Head Aircraft Mechanic (Non-Jet) typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Responsibility for performing unskilled to semi-skilled work in the maintenance, repair and construction of the municipal water distribution and sewer collection systems. Work responsibilities extend to providing work direction to less experienced maintenance workers and laborers. Work is performed under the general direction of the Utilities Systems Foreman.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
The work schedule is a 40-hour work week, Sunday through Saturday. Work is typically performed Monday through Friday. This position is a non-exempt and eligible for overtime. Any overtime must be authorized prior to working. Must be available for on-call work.
TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the business day. Occasional travel may be required to attend off-site training and educational opportunities.
