    Introduction to the job
    The Engineering Manager- Hardware and Test Center is in part made up of the Test and Measurement Facility (TMF) for initial design qualification and risk reduction testing. (TMF is not a manufacturing test facility) TMF is responsible for: designing and developing engineering tests, test equipment, design feasibility test, reliability tests, execution, and test reports. And in addition to TMF, Engineering lab management, lab requirements roadmap, and mechanical model shop fills out the Hardware and Test Center portfolio.
    As the Engineering Manager for Hardware and Test Center, you will be responsible for leading a team of 40 plus direct and indirect reports. Your direct reports will primarily be Managers (Group Leads), Project Leads, and Senior Architects. Your indirect reports who will be directly reporting to your Group Leads will consist of Test and Measurement Engineers, multidisciplinary Test Stand Design Engineers, Task Leads, Engineering Technicians, and Tool Makers.
    Roles and Responsibilities
    As direct leader, you will partner closely with the Product Managers, Project Managers regarding present and future scope and timing of deliverables to support ASML product development. You will be accountable for the quality, technical integrity, and planning for on time execution of deliverables. Collaborate on project planning, attend design reviews, and review and approve technical documentation. Be responsible for hiring direct, contract, and intern/Co-Op employees. Meet regularly one on one with your team members and hold regular team meetings to provide mentoring, coaching, and career development guidance. Collect feedback, provide input to salary and promotion decisions, and deliver annual performance evaluations. You will also be challenged to identify and lead continuous improvement projects that improve the way of working, increase collaboration, and streamline our ASML processes.
    Responsible for people management and career development activities including recruiting, onboarding, training, mentoring, coaching, and performance evaluation.
    Responsible for leading a group to develop and realize engineering tests and test equipment, including operation, analysis, and reporting of results.
    Define the requirements of the engineering labs/clean rooms over time by determining the needs, and working with facilities group to realize those needs.
    Work with multiple engineering disciplines and co-developers to ensure timely realization of tests and test results.
    Support multi-disciplinary development projects, such as robotics, mechatronics, optical systems.
    Develop the skillsets within the Hardware and Test Center to successfully realize leading edge tests to support the development of lithography machines.
    Responsible for resource management working with Product Managers and Project Leaders to anticipate staffing and skillset needs and to optimally allocate work.
    Lead continuous improvement projects to further improve the quality and efficiency of the organization. This includes collaboration with other ASML sites globally that also have Hardware and Test functions.
    Education and Experience
    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, math, or science degree is required and minimum 10 of years of relevant experience or Masters or PhD with minimum 8 years of experience
    Required technical skills (i.e. calculations, measurement analytics)
    Soft skill requirements (i.e. strong English communication skills – both written and oral, ability to influence, ability to operate in a matrix environment).
    Minimum of 3 years of direct management, project management, or similar leadership experience in a technical field.

    We are seeking an individual who brings energy and leadership to a department responsible for engineering feasibility and risk reduction test design, testing, test equipment design, lab development, and prototype part fabrication.
    The Hardware and Test Center provides complete test solutions for the ASML Design and Development organization responsible for development of state-of-the-art photolithography machines.
    The Hardware and Test aim is to mitigate risks by testing hardware early in the design process. Therefore, a background in test design and testing of components, systems, industrialization, reliability, and test and measurement analysis is preferred.
    Have strong written and oral communicative skills – ability to communicate effectively to your team and to senior management.
    Demonstrate open, clear, concise and professional communication.
    Ability to develop a strategy and create roadmaps for testing capability, competence, and facility needs.
    Demonstrated “team player” with a quality orientation and interpersonal skills.
    Capability to interface with multidisciplinary groups (including senior leadership), and be willing to take on responsibility, follow through and help your staff keep multiple simultaneous projects on schedule.
    Ability to inspire and coach individuals and groups to achieve career development and performance targets.
    Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents.
