Being a Hardware Engineer performs stress and performance tests on a variety of computer hardware including circuit boards, processors and wiring. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Hardware Engineer typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Description:
Targeting ideally 1-5 years of experience.
- Develop test fixtures to support manufacturing and engineering
- Troubleshoot at various product levels (board, wire harness, product, systems, etc.)
- PCB schematic design and board layout in Altium
- PCB prototype assembly or modification, including thru-sole and surface mount rework

MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- 1 year of relevant electronics experience from internships, co-ops, or professional
- PCB schematic design and board layout
- Test fixture design
- Proficient in reading and understanding schematics and board layouts
- Power supplies, multi-meters, electronic loads, oscilloscopes
PLUS:
- Robotics
- Motors and controllers (brushed, brushless, quadrature encoders, etc.)
- Power regulation and components (linear, switching, BJT vs FET)
- Analog circuitry (buffering, filtering, single vs. differential signaling)
- Digital circuitry (logic, microcontrollers, bus topologies)
- RS-485, RS-232, RS-422, UART, I2C
- Ethernet, USB protocols
