Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Outside Sales Representative to join our dynamic sales team. As an Outside Sales Rep, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential customers within the retail lumber and building materials sector. Your primary goal will be to drive sales growth, promote our products & services, and provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to achieve sales targets and expand market share within the assigned territory.

• Identify and engage with prospective customers, including contractors, builders, remodelers, and other industry professionals.

• Conduct regular customer visits to understand their needs, provide product information, offer solutions, and build strong rapport.

• Promote and demonstrate our range of lumber and building material products, highlighting their features, benefits, and competitive advantages.

• Collaborate with internal teams, including the purchasing department, to ensure optimal product availability and timely order fulfillment.

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, product innovations, and competitors' activities to effectively position our offerings in the market.

• Prepare and present sales proposals and quotes to customers and closing sales deals.

• Monitor customer accounts, track sales activity, and provide accurate sales forecasts and reports.

• Overcome challenges and issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.

• Participate in trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities to expand business reach and establish industry presence.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in outside sales, preferably in the retail lumber and building materials industry.

• Excellent knowledge of lumber, building materials, and construction practices.

• Strong sales, negotiation, and closing skills with a track record of achieving sales targets.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.

• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to sales and customer service.

• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

• Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.

• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
