Hand Compositor/Typesetters sets type by hand and machine. Assembles type and cuts in galley for printing articles, headings, and other printed matter. Being a Hand Compositor/Typesetters determines type size, style, and compositional pattern from work order. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Hand Compositor/Typesetters may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Full-time help needed in the Daviess County area. Must be able to drive a semi and be on time. Work starts at 7 AM. Hours would include 40-50 during the winter months and 65 during spring and fall. Responsibilities would include but not limited to operating equipment, driving semis locally, and general labor such as washing equipment, equipment maintenance, and shop work.
