Bindery workers are responsible for providing assistance in various bindery warehouse stations depending on order requirements. This could include: cutting paper using a guillotine cutter, operating a 3-knife trimming to final trim books, basic troubleshooting and adjustments to machines. Other assistance may be required in: collating, perfect binding, spiral coil binding, or case binding.

Shift Position: 11:30 am - 8:00 pm, Monday-Friday with 30-minute lunch break. 40 hours per week minimum, guaranteed. During training, main shift hours (8-4:30) will be required.

Essential Functions:

• Set up and operate cutting or bindery machines according to work order
• Maintain an organized work environment
• Assist in collating/inserting color printed pages
• Follow all quality control procedures and check all work for accuracy.
• Report and consult with staff when inaccuracies are found to ensure revisions are made properly and in a timely manner.
• Lift and load paper to machine and remove from machines and carts
• Must meet schedules and tight deadlines while being responsible for ensuring quality work.
• Work closely with other team members to exceed customer expectations.
• Ability to work a full-time schedule including occasional over-time on weekends.
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
• Operate pallet jacks to transport paper as needed
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Must be able to manage multiple objectives and tasks simultaneously and be able to adjust immediately to changing priorities.
• Must work well in a team environment and have the ability to communicate needs and objectives with all team members.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and comprehension skills both written and verbal.
• Strong attention to detail essential.
• Ability to meet physical demands outlined below

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bindery or cutting experience a plus.

Physical Demands: Standing for extended periods and frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs. Continuous vision. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs. to move palletized loads or carts of books. Possible reaching, twisting, and gripping up to 25 lbs. to move paper stock. Occasional crouching and use of hand tools during routine machine maintenance.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Hours are Monday through Friday 11:30am-8:00pm. Weekend or evening hours may be required during peak production times. We're looking for someone who can consistently work their scheduled shift, Monday-Friday, with excellent attendance.
