HVAC Supervisor supervises and coordinates the operations, maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. Oversees the installation of new units and replacement parts and ensures work is completed according to company, product, or engineering specifications and established safety guidelines. Being an HVAC Supervisor conducts quality testing and inspections. May authorize equipment, supplies, parts, or repairs purchases. Additionally, HVAC Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Requires an HVAC Mechanical State License and EPA Section 608 Certification (CFC). Typically reports to a manager. The HVAC Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an HVAC Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Assumes the responsibility of being the highest ranking administrative person in charge of the facility when other higher ranking administrators are not in house.
- Assesses, evaluates, intervenes on inpatient wound care needs of patients.
- Assists in the monthly scheduling process as needed. Determines adequate staffing coverage on the nursing units is maintained to the best level possible by assessing the number and level of personnel needed to provide quality patient care. Adjusts staffing and assignments appropriately by calling in or sending home staff as deemed necessary.
- Other duties as needed.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently licensed in the state of Indiana as an RN. Maintains this licensure and provides any licensure renewals or changes to Human Resources.
- For the Wound Care Specialist role, a master’s degree in nursing and wound certification is required.
- Must possess Basic Life Support certification or obtain prior to providing direct patient care. Maintains BLS certification per hospital policy.
- Must possess and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification or be willing to obtain within reasonable time frame after hire.
- Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, Emotional support (S.T.A.B.L.E.) certification is desirable but not required.
