Oversees the installation of new units and replacement parts and ensures work is completed according to company, product, or engineering specifications and established safety guidelines. Being an HVAC Supervisor conducts quality testing and inspections. May authorize equipment, supplies, parts, or repairs purchases. Additionally, HVAC Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Requires an HVAC Mechanical State License and EPA Section 608 Certification (CFC). Typically reports to a manager. The HVAC Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an HVAC Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Position Summary :
The HVAC / Refrigeration Service Technician is responsible to assist in the repair and overhaul equipment, refrigeration, heating and ventilation equipment to ensure customer needs are met efficiently, accurately and on-time.
Essential duties and responsibilities :
Required skills :
High school diploma / GED.
EPA certification.
Certification from an accredited vocational-technical or trade school a plus!
Minimum 3-5 years of commercial HVAC and refrigeration experience required.
Must be okay with outer island travel, could be 2-3 days a week.
Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets a strong plus.
MUST have experience working on parallel rack units.
Familiarity with single systems, along with previous work on display cases and walk-in boxes is very helpful. Ice machines and ammonia systems a plus.
Maintenance experience including hotel maintenance and or facility maintenance a big plus!
Must have a good driving record and be able to work independently.
Emergency on-call availability is a basic requirement.
Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. with no assistance and also be able to sit and / or stand for several hours at a time.
