HR Data Supervisor supervises the deployment and administration of operational processes used to deliver HR programs and projects. Collaborates with stakeholders to provide consultation, process design, and project management of HR program implementations and initiatives like compensation, benefits, performance management, or training. Being an HR Data Supervisor delivers scalable methodologies and tools to optimize HR operations and streamline core processes like onboarding, hiring, terminations, retirements, timekeeping, and others that make up the employment life-cycle. Oversees employee data management processes to ensure that data is secure and maintained consistent with company policies and privacy regulations and that required reporting and filings are delivered. Additionally, HR Data Supervisor evaluates, selects, and manages HR process outsourcing vendors and contracts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The HR Data Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an HR Data Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     As a Lead Senior Data Engineer at HR Acuity, you will have a huge impact on the design and operations of our data pipelines, infrastructure and the experience of our customers.     The Opportunity

    • Lead the design and implementation of ELT/ETL processes, particularly focused on extracting data from RDBMS and nosql datastores into Snowflake 
    • Effectively model data within our data warehouse, RDBMS, and nosql data stores for efficient processing and retrieval, with a particular focus on reporting and analytics 
    • Implement the latest in AI and ML to provide predictive analytics and semantic reasoning. 
    • Hold yourself and your team accountable to a high standard of delivery and quality 
    • Contribute with our other engineers
    • Aligning disparate viewpoints and charting a unified path forward 
    • Effectively scope work and decompose initiatives into discrete deliverables 
    • Balance competing priorities to ensure we effectively ship new features while resolving defects and managing technical debt 
    • Mentor other engineers and guide them towards more effective technical solutions 

     

    Qualifications

    Who you are

    • You’re an experienced Data Engineer who understands that in the world of cloud-based services, building services only gets you to the starting line. Shipping, operating, and supporting those services is the race.
    • You have more than a few years of experience in a fast-paced development environment and are passionate about the art and science behind building fast and elegant data products.  

    What you bring to the team

    • 10 years of engineering experience with 5 years focused on data engineering
    • 5 years of experience working on large-scale distributed event-based SaaS applications 
    • World class design and programming skills, deep expertise in Python preferred 
    • Deep expertise with a variety of data engineering tools such as Spark and Flink
    • Experience working closely with DevOps to deliver software through CI/CD pipelines into containerized hosting environments, ideally on Kubernetes 
    • Tangible experience with Kafka or other event streaming platform
    • Extensive experience with relational, nosql, and other datastores with the ability to talk in depth about when and why to choose one vs the other 
    • Experience in building cloud native solutions using Azure, AWS, or another cloud provider 
    • Experience with automating the testing all levels of the stack (unit tests, integration tests, regression tests, etc) 
    • Comfort using Feature Flags to incrementally enable functionality across the customer base 
    • Appreciation for the operational aspects of SaaS engineering, including experience with incident management and using SLOs and other system observability techniques to proactively understand system health 
    • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills 
    • Excellent teamwork and coordination skills with the ability to drive consensus and create clarity from ambiguity 
    • Experience with Data Science and AI/ML is a plus
    • BS in Computer Science or related technical field experience

    Compensation:

    The pay range for this position is expected to be between $180,000 and $200,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized, non-discriminatory factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, and equity.
