Additionally, Group Underwriter may coordinate with field agents to collect or clarify information or decisions. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. THE OPPORTUNITY
This position analyzes new and renewal commercial risks for Middle Market accounts and decides whether to provide coverage and if so under what conditions. This position will also focus on developing the relationships with producers and by focusing on the sales aspect of Underwriting. The basic objective is to meet or exceed company defined loss ratio and production objectives. This position must have knowledge of forms, coverages, underwriting guidelines and reinsurance limits. The Middle Market underwriter serves as a vital link between company personnel, independent agencies and vendors through periodic visits supported by telephone and written communication.
