Job Description:
Role Summary/Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead the strategic vision and implementation of the loan product strategy for Home, Auto, and Lifestyle within our merchant and consumer facing point of sale channels. The ideal candidate will be adept at quickly understanding a variety of technologies, possess a strong Product Management background with a focus on digital payment products, merchant/provider experience, market research, and have a proven track record of delivering strategic, multi-platform programs on time and within budget.
This individual will be responsible for working with the cross functional product, technology, sales, and commercialization teams to create a robust multiproduct strategy and roadmap that will support Home, Auto, and Lifestyle platforms, while also aligning this with the Health & Wellness multiproduct strategy.
The role will require a deep understand of the existing merchant point of sale channels (primarily Business Center and Business Center Transact) and partner with platform leaders and key clients to design and implement customer centric apply and buy experiences to support Synchrony's growing loan product, Pay Later.
This role requires a bold, proven leader with demonstrated ability to drive growth and change across large organizations with cross-functional support. An ideal candidate brings the ability to be an expert and advocate for our merchants and cardholders when representing their interests within Synchrony’s supporting organizations and digital product teams. This role will require ideating on not what is, but what could be and then communicating and at times selling that vision across the organization.

Essential Responsibilities:
Define and deliver product vision, strategy, roadmap and ultimately prioritization of a new features in concert with complementary and dependent point of sale channels
Align a cohesive strategy with our Health & Wellness, Home & Auto, and Lifestyle platform teams to realize synergies across Synchrony point of sale channels
Partner with Enterprise product and technology teams to develop and expand Pay Later Loans roadmap to support key features and capabilities required by the Home, Auto, and Lifestyle P&Ls
Understand how new Enterprise features and capabilities are integrated into new and existing apply experiences to ensure they work seamlessly for our merchants and consumers
Identifying critical functionality needed by our merchants and providers to manage and view, manage, and action their customer’s loans
Identifying and creating product requirements and roadmap for integrating newly acquired Ally loan business into Synchrony’s merchant point of sale channels and loan product
Deeply understand merchant and customer journeys and internal workflows to inform new opportunities to improve associated experiences
Implement and manage high quality, scalable, and cost-effective technology solutions to simplify and automate digital customer journey
Design & Implement market research, provider journey mapping, and profile engagement scenarios for merchants, cardholders and partners.
Voice-of-Customer feedback process aggregate feedback from clients, consumers and internal teams to form recommendations on future capabilities and services
Provide regular updates to Senior Leaders and partner with go to market team to develop product marketing strategy and materials
Build a strong cross-functional network and foster close working relationships with internal stakeholders
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma and 10 years of product, sales or marketing experience in the credit card or financial services industries
Minimum of 8 years Product Marketing or Product Management experience to include:
Proven project or program management experience in cross functional environment
Knowledge of journey mapping and customer profiling
Familiarity working in a SAFe Agile environment
Demonstrated influencing skills with senior leaders and cross functional teams
Travel may be required up to 25%
Desired Characteristics:
Experience with financial services and specifically financing
Experience with point of sale product management
Demonstrated thought leadership coupled with strong communication skills and ability to help teams connect the dots on new ideas, processes and strategy
Ability to leverage technology to create new processes and drive efficiency gains
Proven track record of delivering results; must be process and detail oriented, capable of handling large workloads through multi-tasking
Demonstrated strategic, analytical and problem-solving skills
High energy, self-motivated, with strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Excellent influencing and relationship-building skills at multiple levels of organization
Sales or Marketing experience in credit card networks, financial services, or healthcare industry
Strategic thinker with ability to develop and implement actionable plans to drive business results
Consumer finance and/or retail marketing experience with an understanding of core financial drivers
Grade/Level: 12
The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be 18 years or older
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.
