The Assistant Branch Manager assists in maintaining the daily operations of the branch, the coaching and development of branch staff, and ensures compliance with Verity’s policies, procedures, security measures, and applicable laws. He/she oversees staff supervision and scheduling, contributes ideas to achieve branch goals, and assists the Branch Manager with all aspects of branch operations. He/she exercises independent judgment with minimal supervision to resolve issues, satisfy members, and promote Verity’s Mission and Values.

• Base Pay: This position has a salary range of $27.26 (minimum) to $42.60 (maximum), with a midpoint of $34.08. Starting pay is offered based upon an applicant’s experience and education relevant to the position.
• Commission / Incentive Pay: In Addition to regular pay, this position is eligible for
• Paid Time Off: All Verity employees receive 11 paid holidays per year, as well as paid time off (PTO is combined vacation and sick leave.) PTO starts accruing immediately at a rate of 15 days per year.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Promote credit union services and cross-sell products
• Ensure compliance of staff to establish account policies and procedures, and security measures
• Knowledge of proper robbery procedures
• Cash handling, back up teller duties, vault teller duties
• Complete monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual audits required by Internal Audit
• In charge of ATM/cash vaults of the branch, and balances/maintains general ledger accounts
• Keep management informed of branch needs and employee issues and concerns
• Demonstrated work experience showing progressively responsible duties that demonstrated the ability to exercise independent judgment, employee initiative, program implementation, and leading others towards strategic goals
• Ability to negotiate and influence employees and members using diplomacy and tact
• Engage in employee professional development, performance management, training, and employee counseling skills
• Lending officer duties that include origination, processing, and credit decision making
• Strong communication, oral and writing, problem solving skills
• Assume responsibilities of the Branch Manager as needed
• Attending the job during regular business hours is a requirement of this position

Human Resources

• Assist in preparation and delivery of employee performance reviews
• Assist in organizing and conducting branch meetings
• Acknowledge and support employee contributions
• Give employee feedback and coaching/training on continuous service performance issues and provide action plans
• Enhance staff morale consistent with Verity’s Mission and Values
• Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate with diverse membership and staff

Sales

• Reviews team performance metrics and strategizes with Branch Manager to meet production and services goals
• Mentor employees to achieve monthly sales goals
• Assist in education of employee's goals, promotions, and strategic objectives
• Develop relationships with business and community partners
• Participate in community events relating to Verity

Working Conditions

• May be required to attend off-hours and off-site meetings
• May be required to work Saturday hours
• Traveling will be required for meetings and possible off-site training classes

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

• Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience desired
• Experience in a financial institution desired
• Experience in customer service and front-line support desired
• Leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented and good organizational skills
• Ability to perform minor mathematical calculations and collect and analyze data
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Ability to present a positive and professional image to all employees and members

• Knowledge of fundamentals of banking
• Knowledge of government and Credit Union banking regulations and procedures
