SUMMARY
The primary role of the Assistant Manager is to serve as a reliable back-up to the Store Manager. Together, the Store Manager and Assistant Manager are responsible for ensuring all aspects of running a safe, efficient, productive, and profitable store are achieved.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Hardlines stocking, merchandising / display, maintenance, sizing and pricing. Backroom, merchandising, maintenance, stocking, and safety.
Clerical procedures. Understands and practices great customer service.
Assists Store Manager (at manager's request or in their absence) in : Calculating labor percentages. Scheduling work assignments.
Performing daily walk through. Register countdowns. Petty cash countdowns. Processing returns checks. Going after change.
Handles and disperses gift certificates. Insuring completion of new hire documentation. Store closings. Handling voids, associate sales, and customer service / complaints.
Handling phone calls. Morning associate meetings. Reading and responding to email. Understands, upholds, and reinforces all store and company policies.
Works with, and as the stock manager in opening stocks. Assists in overseeing and training associate work and standard operating procedures.
Assists or performs (at mgr.'s request or absence) daily evaluations including 'Instant Appraisals' and conference reports.
Effectively runs daily store operations for manager during their absence. Performs any other various tasks that is requested by manager or needed done
