Grinding and Polishing Worker, Hand sets-up and operates automatic machines that cut, grind, or polish glass products such as glass tubes or glassware. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being a Grinding and Polishing Worker, Hand may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Grinding and Polishing Worker, Hand relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. Performs basic receiving and final inspection on simple parts involving attribute gages and calipers in accordance with applicable quality system documentation. May perform first-piece or in-process inspection under the supervision of a higher-grade inspector. Evaluates materials, components and/or assemblies for conformance to specification requirements or established workmanship standards. Applies basic statistical techniques, including sampling plans as defined in ANSI Z1.4 and ANSI Z1.9, to assess product conformance.

Required Experience:
