Basic Job Functions:

The NSWV Hot Mill Grinder/Chocker must drive Nucor's safety culture and be willing to take responsibility for self and others while setting an example for others to follow, grinding of work and back up rolls, receiving, chocking/de-chocking rolls, trouble shooting equipment issues, housekeeping, quality, and other necessary duties to keep the roll shop running smoothly. They will also be required to cross train on Hot Mill equipment. The NSWV hot mill roll shop will utilize automated systems for roll grinding and the ability to use computers, tablets, and learn new software will be essential. Ability to work rotating shifts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime including nights, holidays and weekends.

Nucor Steel West Virginia is Nucor's new sheet mill with advanced steelmaking capabilities. This is a greenfield project, which is estimated to be fully operational in 2026. The new steel mill will employ 800 full-time teammates producing up to 3 million tons per year at one of the most technologically advanced sheet mills. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV. This is a full-time position located at our offices in Mason County, WV.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Willing to travel for training purposes, pre and post commissioning, possibly for extended periods of time
• Industrial manufacturing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• CNC machine experience
• 2 yrs sheet mill roll shop experience
• Prior construction/project experience
• Overhead crane and mobile equipment experience
• Electrical and mechanical maintenance knowledge
