ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sets up and operates one or more grinding machines both manual (centerless) O.D and I.D Grinder (Parker Majestic, Crystal Lake)
- Surface Grinder such as small HARIG 618 Auto and large OKAMATO Auto
- CNC (Studer) to grind external cylindrical surfaces of metal workpieces to blueprint and work order specifications
- Knowledge of grinding wheel feeds, speeds, holding fixtures, and grinding wheels type Dress wheels to specifications, using dressing devices
- Capability to read blueprints and work orders for product specifications, such as dimensions, tolerances and number of parts to be ground in addition to tooling instructions
- Skilled in the use of indicator, gauge, dial bores, and plate inspection methods for first article and in-process inspection of precision machined parts
- Ability to maintain close tolerances (within .0003”) of ID’s, hold .0002 profile, roundness
- Understanding of machine tool accuracies. Understanding of all router instructions for each grinding sequence and evaluating production and setup standards immediately after starting and establishing the actual time standards.
- Run production on CNC machining center
- Check, and monitor the parts that are being run
- Ensure quality standards are being met
- Responsible to produce the proper amount of parts per machine cycle time
- Deburr and blend all parts that are machined
- Perform daily maintenance on machines including: maintaining fluid levels, emptying chips, wiping down machine to remove coolant, dust and debris.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES
- High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred.
- Candidates that do not have a high school diploma or high school equivalency will be required to take a pre-employment assessment to be considered for the role.
- Trade school for machining practices would be preferred.
- Read and interpret blue prints
- Ability to read measuring equipment. (Calipers/Micrometers)
Shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm Monday to Friday
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
