POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Development the Graphic Design Specialist supports the successful strategy, development and implementation of brand design at the Greater Kingsport Family YMCA. This includes translating director’s needs and program strategies into meaningful and impactful design campaigns while adhering to the YMCA's brand standards. This position will assist in the managing of multi- channel, integrated program marketing including member acquisition, engagement and retention efforts. It is anticipated that an average work week will consist of 29 hours to accomplish the assigned duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Design print and digital advertising and promotional template materials such as; but not limited to, flyers, posters, email, website and, social media graphics, postcards, banners, and apparel for the YMCA’s of Northeast TN.

· Support and assist in the development and designs of print and digital advertising and promotional materials for the Greater Kingsport Family YMCA.

· Work with established vendors to purchase print, apparel and digital materials as needed.

· Manage, update and maintain the Greater Kingsport Family YMCA website to ensure information is accurate and brand standards are maintained.

· Collaborate with the leadership team members from the YMCA’s of Northeast TN to ensure

marketing request and project deadlines are being communicated and met.

· Assist the Sr. Director of Development in creating a cohesive marketing strategy calendar for program marketing, monthly themes, content creation and internal/external communication for the YMCA’s of Northeast TN.

· Collaborate with the leadership staff to schedule and organizing public speaking events with community organizations to raise awareness about programs and services the YMCA is doing to help strengthen community.

· Work with leadership staff at the Greater Kingsport Family YMCA and the YMCA’s of Northeast TN to develop collaborative and forward thinking relationships to support program and organization efforts.

· Develop and maintain a positive media relationship with our community partners.

· Support the Senior Director of Development with design and advertising efforts for the Annual Giving Campaign. As well as administrative duties for fundraising efforts and events.

· Adhere to the goals and strategies of the YMCA, and assist in effectively communicating them to staff and volunteers.

· Reports any problems, issues, or departmental concerns to supervisor in a timely manner.

· Provides for a strong professional image in regards to dress, attitude, punctuality, communication, and demeanor.

· Duties, responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.

· Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations and events.

· Leads program specific meetings and conducts quarterly staff meetings.

· Respond to participants’ inquiries and needs in timely manner, contacts appropriate personnel when necessary, and handles complaints in a courteous manner.

· Participate in annual fundraising campaigns.

· Attend and contribute to all staff meetings and in service training.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Minimum of two years of college.

· Two or more years of practical experience in marketing, design and/or communications.

· Interpersonal, public relations, and oral and written communication skills.

· Working knowledge of design software such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premier Pro and Acrobat is necessary.

· Efficient in MS-Word, Outlook, Excel and Powerpoint.

· Familiarity with online communication and social networking tools (i.e. websites, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram).

· Graphic design experience producing both print and digital materials.

· Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from various social and economic segments of the community.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Marketing/Design and/or communications related course of study.

· Experience with media and planning special events.
