Graphic Design Specialist designs and produces graphic art and visual materials for print and digital media. Coordinates with customers and stakeholders to conceptualize and deliver projects on time and budget. Additionally, Graphic Design Specialist experienced using a variety of design and editing tools and software such as Adobe. Knowledge of color, composition, typography, digital design and production management. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Graphic Design Specialist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of the social media and graphic design specialist is to execute the company’s social media strategy and manage its’ social media platforms to increase brand awareness, improve communication, increase sales, and promote community engagement and company connection. In addition, they will be responsible for developing optimized content for the company’s email campaigns, as well as designing digital and print assets for company marketing materials.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Create and update printed and digital creative assets within Satellite’s brand standards.
- Developing social media content plans that are consistent with the company’s brand identity and strategies and managing social media marketing campaigns.
- Create, curate, and manage all published content.
- Creating consistent, meaningful content on all social media platforms, including writing, and editing social media posts, images, video, social media graphics for all profiles, ad design, etc.
- Managing a consistent volume of weekly social media posts (approx. 3-5 per week) and daily activities.
- Creating and managing a shared monthly/annual calendar of planned posts.
- Create and manage email campaigns.
- Communicating with social media followers, including responding to queries in a timely manner.
- Using analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Hootsuite, and other tools as needed to monitor and evaluate the company’s social media presence and performance as well as utilizing social media listening tools to help understand how customers and potential customers think about the company.
- Preparing monthly reports on social media, email, and paid ad marketing efforts.
- Suggesting recommendations to adjust the social media marketing strategy for optimal results.
- Staying up to date on best practices and emerging trends in social media.
- Identify threats and opportunities in user-generated content surrounding the company. Report notable threats to appropriate management.
- Monitor online reviews and respond in a timely manner, with direction from management as needed.
- Write, edit, post, and promote informative and engaging content on Satellite’s social media platforms and email campaigns to increase brand awareness.
Education and Experience Requirements:- This position requires a bachelor’s degree or the near completion of a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing or Programming.
- Minimal experience required. Preferably 3 – 6 months of design/web intern experience.
- Intermediate skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Dreamweaver.
- Basic knowledge in the following technology areas: HTML, CSS, Java, JavaScript, and jQuery
- Experience with video production and/or photography preferred.
- Must have printed or online portfolio.
Required Skills:- Ability to interpret and execute brand guidelines/brand standards.
- Highly motivated self-starter employing a high attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks, handle shifting priorities, and carry tasks to completion.
- Team player, creative spirit, desire to learn.
- Comfortable working in a PC environment.
- Quick learner and producer.
- Able to work under deadlines.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have any direct Supervisory responsibilities.
Physical/Mental Demands:
Position requires a high degree of concentration to manage frequent interruptions while meeting strict deadlines. This position requires the ability to perform duties using both typical office equipment such as computers, DSLR cameras, video cameras, smart phones, and printers as well as the ability to communicate and perform tasks in an office environment. The ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, move marketing material, lift and move products for video and photography as well as bend, sit or stand is necessary.
