Graphic Design Specialist designs and produces graphic art and visual materials for print and digital media. Ensures that layout and design are aligned with brand and production standards and follow best practices. Being a Graphic Design Specialist creates and executes design solutions and collateral used for marketing, advertising, sales, and other forms of communication. Coordinates with customers and stakeholders to conceptualize and deliver projects on time and budget. Additionally, Graphic Design Specialist experienced using a variety of design and editing tools and software such as Adobe. Knowledge of color, composition, typography, digital design and production management. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Graphic Design Specialist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Why the Assistant Director of Graphic Design of AOII:  
    As the Assistant Director of Graphic Design (ADGD) of AOII, you will be the primary designer of all publication concepts and visual elements for the Fraternity. The primary focus of the ADGD is to ensure all publications meet the organizational standards of quality and branding. 

    Reports to: 
    • Director of Communications

    Direct Supervisor responsibilities to:
    • No supervisor responsibilities

    Essential Duties or Functions:
    • Primary manager of the Fraternity brand (logo, letterhead, supporting materials, etc.)
    • Creates and/or manages the Fraternity extension brand (submission materials, presentation materials, public relations materials, chartering materials, banners, swag, etc.) in collaboration with the Associate Director of Chapter Growth and Development and the Director of Collegiate Experience
    • Designs print and event materials for various departments, as needed (brochures, booklets, manual covers, logos, programs, promotions, displays, catalogs, t-shirts, merchandise, mailers, etc.)
    • Works with events staff to develop event concepts (logos, t-shirts, signage, etc.)
    • Works with Director of Strategic Partnerships/Editor to design and produce print and digital issues of To Dragma
    • Responsible for the organization of digital photos submitted to Headquarters
    • Meet the constraints of cost, time, and budget on all projects
    • Art director/stylist for photo shoots when project requires it
    • Primary staff resource for questions pertaining to Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
    • Tracks design trends in the industry to create a sophisticated, professional look for all AOII branded material(s)
    • Serves on the Communications team to support the Fraternity in any related duties required or requested by the Executive Director or Assistant Executive Director
    • Serves on the Communications team in support of the AOII Archives
    • Serves on the Awards Committee under the direction of the Assistant Executive Director
    • Member of the Fraternity Communications Association (FCA)

    Assistant Director of Graphic Design must be able to demonstrate:

    • Ability to assist in budget planning
    • Ability to organize and allocate both human and financial resources

    Required Qualifications 
    • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Designs/Visual Communication
    • Proficient in Adobe InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator, and new media design programs
    • Experience and knowledge of printing and production methods
    • Ability to effectively read, write, and speak the English language
    • Physical mobility and dexterity to transport file and operate general office equipment (telephone, fax, copier, computer, etc.)
    • Experience in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
    • Must be able to work evening and weekend functions as necessary
    • Must be willing and able to travel
    • Initiated member of AOII preferred 
    • Three to five years of relevant experience preferred 

    Working Conditions
    • Office setting based in Brentwood, TN, remote work capable 
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on the computer
    • Must be able to lift up-to 15 pounds at times

    Salary Range:
    • $50,000 - $55,000
