  • Smith Auto Group is searching for a qualified automotive Service Advisor at Tuscaloosa Mazda . SAG has been in business since 1938, and presently operates nine stores in four states, with significant additional growth planned. We are searching for talented and self-motivated individuals with a demonstrated work ethic to join our team.

    The Service Advisor greets customers, listens to the description of their complaints and/or service(s) needed, writes repair orders, and serves as a liaison between customer and technician. If a vehicle requires additional repairs or services not documented in the original repair order, they estimate the additional cost and contact the customer for permission to perform the additional work. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Advises and recommends repair and/or service needs to customers
    • Accurately documents customer complaints for the benefit of the customer and assigned technician
    • Communicates inspection results and repair progress with customers
    • Makes recommendations to customers based on their needs
    • Prepares a repair order showing time, cost, and labor estimates for service.
    • Explains the work performed and the repair order charges to the customer.
    • Schedules service appointments.
    • Obtains customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible.
    • Greets customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtains vehicle information.
    • Refers to service history, inspects vehicle, and recommends additional needed service.
    • Provides a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts.
    • Ensures on-time return of vehicles to customers after repairs and/or service are performed
    • Establishes customer's method of payment. Obtains approval from extended warranty or PA for factory warranty when required
    • Reviews repair orders to ensure that work is completed, and additional work and authorization is noted. Closes repair order as appropriate.
    • Ensures that vehicles are parked in assigned areas. Makes sure they are locked, and all keys are marked and put away correctly.
    • Implements a quality control process to eliminate comebacks.
    • Maintains Tier 1 CSI
    • Completes mandatory training as required
