Service Writer - Noank Shipyard

Position Description

Noank Shipyard is seeking a full-time Service Advisor to join our award-winning team. We are looking for a person with an excellent work ethic and drive for success. This is a position with varied duties in our boatyard. Noank Shipyard is a very successful yard with outstanding staff and customers. We are looking for the right person to join our team. Must be able to perform job duties with little or no supervision. Must be able to direct seasonal help in tasks as needed. Must be physically able to work in all areas of the boatyard. A valid drivers license is required.

The job will consist of many duties throughout the different seasons at the yard:

• Reports to Service Manager

• Serves as primary contact between TPG and Customer

• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with customers

• Meet with owners in person, via phone and email to ascertain work requested

• Prepare estimates and work orders and communicate work requests to SM and team

• Obtain customer deposits for approved work

• Maintain updates to daily work lists as work is added into the system

• Monitor work progress / interact with team in getting work completed

• Communication with customer in timely manner on job scope change / approval

• Communication with customer to ascertain delivery date / haul date and to discuss any issues with delivery date.

• Develop invoices for work completed

• Participate in the quality assurance process/continuous improvement

• Inspect boats for issues/take photographs in fall or when brought to boat yard for winter

• Conduct final inspection/work order review prior to delivery date

• Review trades time sheets daily for accuracy or WO, task and time charged

• Coach and Mentor new members of the service team

• Perform any administrative tasks for SM as needed
