Being a Grants/Proposal Writer outlines accurate budgets that support the proposed activities defined in the proposal. Ensures each grant-writing project complies with the funder's policies, formats, timelines, reporting, and legal requirements. Additionally, Grants/Proposal Writer may participate in the negotiation of contractual provisions with potential partners. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Wyandotte Nation Government is currently accepting applications for a full-time Wyandotte Nation Grant Writer. Successful candidate will be responsible to facilitate research, development, review and editing of departmental and/or governmental grant proposals; conducts research for potential funding sources and maintains databases; supports departments in developing proposals. Provides administrative support for tribal programs by tracking potential funding availability, monitoring and reporting progress reports and submission of reports and new requests for funding. Ensures the funding requested addresses the approved strategic plan of the Tribe. Bachelor of Science degree preferred in English or Communication, or a related field, with five to seven years of experience and proven record of accomplishments in grant writing and program development. Previous tribal experience preferred. Must pass a background check, physical, drug /alcohol testing and maintain a valid driver’s license. The employee frequently will be required to sit, stand, walk, use near vision, see fine details, concentrate, work alone, demonstrate high degree of patience, adapt to shift work, grasp firmly, lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull up to 50 pounds, be exposed to dust, fumes, gases and extreme temperature and/or humidity.
