Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and customer-oriented Service Writer to join our team. The Service Writer will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, accurately documenting vehicle issues, and coordinating repairs with our team of mechanics. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Duties:
- Greet customers and provide a friendly and professional first point of contact
- Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to identify necessary repairs
- Provide detailed repair estimates to customers, including parts and labor costs
- Coordinate repairs with our team of mechanics, ensuring timely completion
- Keep customers informed of the status of their vehicle repairs
- Answer customer inquiries regarding service timelines, costs, and warranty information
- Process customer payments and maintain accurate records of transactions
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing the service department's workflow
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Service Writer or in a similar role within the automotive industry is highly preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of automotive repair processes
- Familiarity with automotive sales, tire service, and auto body repair is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with customers
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer skills for documenting vehicle issues, estimates, and invoices
