Grants Administrator administers the financial control processes of grant activity throughout the grant lifecycle for awarded or received grants to ensure compliance with grant provisions, regulations, standards, timelines, and reporting requirements. Monitors grantee management and disbursement of funds and reviews grantee programs for compliance with the terms of grants. Being a Grants Administrator prepares and submits financial reporting and performs accounting tasks related to managing grant funding received. Tracks and reconciles grant account budgets and expenses. Additionally, Grants Administrator submits any additional information or documentation required by the grant funder. Follows grant accounting best practices and complies with legal regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Grants Administrator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Job Description

    Manager of Retail Sales & Operations
    Reports to: VP of Administration & CFO
    Department: Merchandise
    Status: Exempt


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Merchandising: Determine, analyze and adjust the merchandise mix and buying plan. Execute the
      buying of all new and one-of-a-kind merchandise and oversee the reordering. Focus on Native
      American and American made products as much as possible. Be sensitive to cultural appropriation.
    • Staff Development: Hire, train, motivate, and evaluate staff.
    • Inventory database oversight: Inventory safeguarding and ensuring that inventory is properly
      recorded. Responsible for policies and procedures to ensure that inventory receipts, transfers, and
      withdrawals are recorded in inventory records.
    • Business Analysis: Evaluate sales, inventory, and profit and expense data. Provide monthly, quarterly
      and annual reports for President, CFO, Control and Merchandising Council. Prepare and meet
      departmental budget and determine business policies for merchandising activities.
    • Product Development: Develop a line of exclusive Eiteljorg products for special events and retail.
      Promote relationships with a diverse group publishers, manufacturers, and distributors in accordance
      with Museum’s commitment to DEAI.
    • Business and Audience Development: Develop business plan to increase growth through the
      implementation of new and unique merchandise-related income activities. Integrate merchandising
      plans into all museum marketing, educational, programming, and public relations plans. Provide a
      unique and high-quality product and experience for the museum store visitor.
    • Marketing: Collaborate with marketing department to develop and implement marketing strategies
      for Museum store through sales promotions, special events and programs to market to diverse
      audiences.
    • Customer Service: Ensure that Museum store visitors the best experience possible by hiring and
      maintaining friendly, customer-focused staff and volunteers. Ensure store staff is well-informed on
      store merchandise, current exhibits and events, upcoming exhibits and events at the museum and the
      history of the museum and its founder Harrison Eiteljorg.
    • Budgeting: Make the most efficient use of staffing and payroll dollars to provide optimal customer
      experience while adhering to assigned budget. Be strategic in inventory purchasing decisions to
      achieve healthy inventory turn rate, maintain reasonable carrying inventory, and maximize overall
      profitability.
    • Retail Improvement Plan: Own initiatives of Retail Improvement Plan, with support of VP of
      Administration & CFO
    Requirements / Qualifications
    • Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
      • Bachelor’s degree (or combination of relevant education and work experience)
      • Five years retail management and buying experience
      • Contribute to a positive working environment and cooperate with co-workers
      • Maximize earned income contribution from merchandising related activities while enhancing the
        museum’s mission and product offerings
    • Physical Requirements:
      • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA
        and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative
        productivity standards.
      • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal,
        state and local standards
      • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
