Grader, Bulldozer, and Scraper Operator jobs in Washington
Grader, Bulldozer, and Scraper Operator operates a specially equipped tractor to gouge out, level, and distribute earth. Prepares land for constructing roads and buildings. Being a Grader, Bulldozer, and Scraper Operator may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Grader, Bulldozer, and Scraper Operator is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Duties: - Operate heavy equipment, such as graders, bulldozers, backhoes, and loaders, to grade and level surfaces - Use horizontal drilling techniques to create trenches and ditches - Perform excavation and digging tasks as required - Operate dump trucks and tankers to transport materials - Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain equipment - Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment Skills: - Proficient in operating graders, bulldozers, backhoes, loaders, dump trucks, and tankers - Experience with horizontal drilling techniques - Commercial driving experience is preferred - Strong mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance - Ability to build and dig according to project specifications We offer competitive pay rates and opportunities for career advancement.
